I wish someone could tell me what is going on at Knox City Shopping Centre. I am alarmed at the rate shops are closing their doors, and the fact that these are shops that have been there a long time is even worse. Sadly they are replaced by shops that I have no interest or need for, and I wonder just how many others are finding the same thing. Just today I see that Dymocks is another casualty, following on the footsteps of Replace-A-Film. Obviously it’s all about rent and who will pay. But if you don’t get the mix of shops right, you won’t get the customers either! Also, the shops that remain will get down-graded with stock allocation, so customers will get less choice and be less likely to buy the things advertised in flyers. How often do you go there with a list of things to buy but can’t find any?

Things are going to get tougher economically as people are being forced to spend less due to the cost of living going up. Whoever is overseeing this shopping centre is going to have to take a serious look at their policy because the way things are now they are not taking care of the most vital element - THE CUSTOMER.

Vote with your money and feet…I know I will, Eastland is looking more and more palatable to me.

There is a dufus driving around with a damaged ute/hi-lux who demolished a steel fence and solid brick letterbox in Amesbury Avenue/Brentwood Drive intersection Wantirna Monday night (17/3). Unfortunately the aforementioned dufus decided he/she was above the law and left the scene in a big hurry and forgot to leave a rego number for the police. Witnesses believe it was a light coloured ute or hi-lux with bull bar, rear number plate off to one side. If the damage to the property was anything to go by, said Dufus must have a bit of damage to his/her vehicle. Brain is obviously damaged as he/she can’t drive and can’t recognise a t-intersection or obey a give way sign. Hey Idiot - we are looking for you!

I have lived in Wantirna for over twenty years and have seen Knox City Shopping Centre grow and grow. But I have noticed since the addition the the new Loft and the O-Zone, and more so over the past year, I am NOT enjoying the shopping experience there. Too many fashion clothing stores, and “useless item” stores I would never shop in, not even to buy things for my kids. The shops I do shop at often don’t have stock, even of advertised lines. Many shops are here today, and gone within the hour!! Even Myer is a wasteland. Christmas shopping is appalling…parking is unattainable. I don’t think it’s just me, I have spoken to other people who are, like me, voting with their feet and going to Eastland and Forest Hill. The O-Zone is a useless precinct, totally family-unfriendly with restaurants you need a gold American Express card to eat at. And don’t even go there later in the evening, it is a dangerous place to go to with your kids. The mix of shops is all wrong, too many phone shops, too many optometrists. What do you think?
